You can also access Upay via the “services” channel in MyEd.Click on the ‘Register for a Upay Account’:Enter ‘UOE’ as Company Affiliate IDClick ‘NEXT’Enter your staff or student number, without the letter ‘s’ You will be prompted to confirm your details.Enter you email address, contact telephone number (optional) and create a password. You will then receive an email confirming your registration. For exact location go to: 'Where can I use Upay?'How do I load money on to my account and how much can I top-up?You can load money and top up in three ways via the Top Up menu within your Upay account: PAYG Top-UpPay as you go is the conventional way of loading money on to your account. Go to the main account menus and click “Top-Up”. You can top up from a minimum of £5 or any other amount you wish.Auto Top-UpThis is an optional feature that you can control by setting trigger amounts. When your account balance reaches a pre-set minimum, your account will auto load a pre-set top up amount, so that you never run out of money. Quick Top-UpThis is an alternative option to Auto Top-Ups. When your account reaches a pre-set minimum amount Upay will email you to let you know. This email will contain a link that will take you straight to the Top-Up process.How long will it take for funds to be added?Funds will be transferred into your account immediately.What if I don't have enough money on my account?Should you have insufficient funds in your account to settle a till transaction you get a one-off overspend allowance of up to £1 to let you complete the transaction. This facility is only available once, after which your account must be topped up.How can I get a statement or the check the balance on my account?You can access your Statements from within your Upay account.Statements can be manipulated to display a range of information including itemised expenditure and a full transaction history. You will also be able to see when you have added funds to your account. Statements can also be printed, downloaded or exported to excel.Is the money in my account safe?Upay is a secure website that enables you to safely set up an account and to load and top up money. Only you will know how much money is held in your Upay account. Management of your Upay account and your student/staff card is your responsibility, not the University’s. All account sums are at risk when a staff/student card is lost but only until your account is blocked or a replacement card issued at one of our Card Help Desks.What happens if I lost my University card?You must report your card as lost or stolen to a Card Help Desk. They will issue a new card which will automatically override your old card. There is a £10 charge to replace a lost, stolen or damaged card.By replacing your card all monies on your Upay account at that time will be automatically transferred over to your new card.If you have downloaded the Upay app you will still be able to use your mobile device to pay for goods via the QR code.All account sums are at risk when a staff/student card is lost but only until your account is blocked or a replacement card issued at one of our Card Help Desks.My card is not faulty but does not work with UpayPlease contact upay.chilli@ed.ac.uk and we will check your Upay account.It is likely your card will need to be replaced. All faulty cards are replaced at any Card Help Desk free of charge.Fraud and securityThe staff/student card must be used by the holder, it is not transferable. Monies on the card are not transferable to other individuals or third parties and cannot be exchanged for cash. Any misuse of the card may result in disciplinary action and if necessary involve Security and the Police.Can I use Upay all year round?The value on your Upay account can be used all year round to suit yourself. At certain times of the year some of the outlets may not be open or offer a reduced service however Upay will always be available as a payment option as will all the associated benefits.Is there an expiry date on my loyalty points?Your points do not expire and can be rolled forward year on year and spent as you wish.What happens when I leave the University?On graduation or termination of employment with the University all balances remaining on Upay accounts will remain for a period of six months to allow users to spend. Any unspent sums remaining after this six month period will be retained by the University.Can I get a refund?Refunds will only be made if the University terminates the service or on specific grounds a student or member of staff leaves the University. Specific grounds exclude graduation, termination of employment or visiting students returning home.
